Loudoun Crime Commission Donates AED to the Leesburg Police Department, Chief Price Accepts Donation at Town Council Meeting
At the Leesburg town council meeting on 4-12-2011, Frank Holtz, Loudoun Crime Commission Board Member, made a life saving donation to the Leesburg Police Department. The Loudoun Crime Commission purchased and donated an automatic external defibulator for the police department. The new defibulator has setting for infant and child patients. Mr. Holtz mentioned that LPD officers often arrive on the scene prior to fire and rescue units so the ability to start life saving techniques is vital to saving the lives of our citizens whose lives depend on it. Mr. Holz also mentioned meeting Officer Leha Green at this years Valor Awards Ceremony. Officer Green was recognized for saving the life of a citizen using an AED. Chief Joseph Price accepted the new device on behalf of the police department and the citizens it serves.
This defibulator will be added to the seven AEDs’ that the department currently has. The Leesburg Police Department deploys defibulators to AED / CPR trained officers when they are on duty.
